1. Who we are

Type17 ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered personality discovery chat service at type17.app. For privacy questions or data requests, contact itstype17@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data — such as email address, when you register or sign in.
• Chat data — messages you send, related conversation/room identifiers, and assistant replies needed to run the service.
• Usage & security data — daily message counts for rate limits; for guests, a hashed form of IP address used only to enforce those limits.
• Payment data — subscriptions use Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe; we only receive subscription status needed to unlock paid features.

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Type17 chat service
• Authenticate users and manage subscriptions
• Prevent abuse (including daily message limits)
• Improve the Type17 model and product experience using stored chat and related usage data

4. Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or unrelated commercial use.

To operate Type17 we use infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf only (for example hosting, authentication/database, and Stripe for payments). They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing those services to us.

5. Retention

We keep account and chat data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service and improve Type17, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Usage counters for rate limits are keyed by calendar day. Payment/subscription records may be kept as required for accounting or legal reasons.

6. Your rights & deletion

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability.

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing itstype17@gmail.com. We will delete or anonymize data we control that is no longer needed to fulfill your request, except where we must retain limited information for legal, security, or billing obligations.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

8. Children

Type17 is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Type17 after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
